Reynolds & Yates Commit to Spartans F.C.

5 June 2025

Spartans FC is delighted to announce that two key players have committed their futures to the club by signing new contract extensions ahead of the upcoming season. Tegan Reynolds and Alicia Yates have been an instrumental part of the club over previous seasons, and their continued presence ensures a strong foundation as we prepare for the challenges ahead.

Reynolds a composed and influential presence in midfield, returned this season to the playing squad after a long term injury, where her work rate, vision, and leadership was a welcomed return. Tegan’s new deal will keep her at the Vanloq Community Stadium until at least the summer of 2027.

Yates had an impressive season last year with some big shot-stopping saves ensuring some vital victories. Alicia’s new deal reflects the faith we have in her as a long-term asset between the posts and we look forward to watching her make further progress over the next 12 months.

Head Coach Jack Beesley commented:

““Seeing Tegan return from her long-term injury was one of the highlights of last season. Not only did she return, but she very quickly adapted to playing SWPL1 football again and put in some fantastic performances as the season went on. Her love for the club and determination for it to succeed will be hugely important for us this season. Additionally, her physicality, ability to stay on the ball under pressure, and range of passing will be a real asset. With a full pre season under her belt, we know there is much more to come from Tegan”

“We’re delighted Alicia has committed to Spartans for the forthcoming season; a huge boost for the club. In my opinion, Alicia is one of the top goalkeepers in the country but still with her best years ahead of her. We hope her calmness, distribution, shot-stopping and positivity will be massively influential for us this season. We look forward to her taking on a more senior role in the group this season”

Goal Keeper Alicia Yates commented:

“While it’s known last season brought challenges, I know the club is ready to rise again. I’m here to give everything on and off the pitch to help this team come back stronger.”

Midfielder Tegan Reynolds commentated:

“I’m delighted to be extending my contract with the club. After a difficult period out with injury, I’ve really enjoyed being back on the pitch this season with the girls. It was a disappointing end to the season but I know the team are more motivated than ever to get the club back to where it should be and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for the new campaign in SWPL 2 ⚪🔴
