Post Match Thoughts from Jack Beesley after midweek win over Dundee United F.C.

8 May 2025

So Jack back to winning ways even though Dundee United manage to pull back two quick goals after half time, what are your thoughts on the game?

“Delighted to get the three points and aside from a crazy 10 minutes at the start of the second half we were completely dominant. We should have gone in more than three up at half time but then we allowed them back into the game with two sloppy goals from our perspective. As a new group we still need to learn to manage certain situations better. But after they scored their 2nd I thought the courage the players showed was outstanding and again could have added far more than two goals in the second half.”

Hannah Jordan made her 100th appearance in a Spartans shirt last night, and is Spartans top goal scorer this season, along with being the only part time player nominated for the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award. How proud does it make you as a manager when players make these accomplishments?

Hannah is another young player who has now played a lot of games for the club, as is the Spartans way with putting trust in young players. She’s really matured on an off the pitch this season and has been a hugely important leader for us. She’s obviously had a strong season individually, helped by a strong collective group who want to help each other. Although she’s been excellent this season she still has a lot of capacity to improve and if she keeps working hard then there’s no reason why she can’t continue developing in the coming years.

Quick turn around to Queen’s Park on Sunday, what’s your thoughts going onto this game and how do you help prepare for a three game week, especially coming up to the end of the season?

“Another hugely difficult game on Sunday. So far this season we’ve won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1 vs Queen’s Park and all 3 games have been very tight. We know it will be a very difficult game on Sunday but hopefully last night can give us confidence that we can play well but also cope with adversity during the game. Once again the players off the bench helped us massively tonight so the squad have given us a real tough challenge to pick a starting 11 on Sunday.”
