Spartans Women are delighted to announce the signing of Scottish age-grade Internationalist Izzy Young.
The talented striker arrives from Hearts Women, where she made her SWPL 1 debut last season in their derby win over Hibernian.
Manager Jack Beesley said, “We are delighted to welcome Izzy to Spartans, a player I have known for many years. Izzy’s development has really accelerated in the last 12-18 months and will be an exciting player for us, with her directness and electric pace.
“She’s another fluid player who can play anywhere across the front line and more recently has been adding goals to her game. We hope Izzy can be one of a number of players who can share the goalscoring burden this season and we look forward to seeing her in a Spartans shirt.”
Speaking of the move, Izzy, who has international honours at Schools, u16s and u17s level added, “I really liked the sound of the ethos at Spartans. It sounds super positive and supportive and I’m delighted to be signing. I’m excited by the prospect of fighting our way back into SWPL 1 and getting to work alongside new players and coaches.”
