The Spartans Football Club is thrilled to announce the loan signing of Mya Christie who joins us on loan from Hibs Women for the remainder of the 24/25 season. Even at 20, Mya has a wealth of SWPL experience, firstly with Aberdeen and recently with Hibs. A former Scotland U19 cap, Mya can play on either side as a wide player or a full-back.
We caught up with Mya as she took in her new surroundings at Ainslie Park yesterday afternoon: “I’m delighted to be joining Spartans and looking forward to the rest of the season. When the opportunity came up it was something I was really excited about. I believe it’s a good decision for me because I feel I can fit in nicely with the Spartans style of play. I can already see how being a part of this team will benefit me personally, which will give me confidence and improve my game”.
SWPL Head Coach Jack Beesley said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mya to Spartans, on loan from Hibs for the remainder of the season. She’s a player who has a lot of SWPL1 experience for her age and another whose full-time behaviours we hope can be beneficial to our young squad. She’s shown her qualities this season both as an attacker and a full-back, and is someone we look forward to offering us another option with her directness, pace and two-footedness. She is eager to learn, improve and compete for a place in our team, and someone whose profile compliments our squad well.”
Next up Spartans face Rangers W.F.C. at Ainslie Park Stadium on Sunday 26th of January (1pm KO) in SWPL 1 action.
