Jack Beesley has strengthened his goalkeeping options for the forthcoming campaign with the signing of Keira Hughes.
A product of the Spartans Player Pathway, Keira makes the transition from the Under 17s side to the Senior squad at an exciting juncture in her development journey.
Hughes, who also gained experience whilst at the Hibs Academy before joining Spartans, will work closely with Alicia Yates as the countdown to the SWPL 2 season gets underway.

Spartans Manager Jack Beesley said, “We’re pleased to see Keira move up to the 1st team from the 17s. Over the past few seasons, firstly with Hibs and then with Spartans, she has improved across many aspects of her play, particularly with the gloves and also reactions whilst keeping on her toes.
“We hope that working alongside one of the best keepers in the country in Alicia, this can be hugely beneficial for Keira’s own development. We also trust her to perform well when called upon, and we look forward to managing her development this season.”
Speaking of the move into the First Team environment, Keira added, “I’m really grateful for this opportunity and very excited to be taking this next step in my football journey with Spartans. I can’t wait to get started and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.”
