Vacancy: Head of Goalkeeping

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join SWPL 1 side Spartans F.C. as Head of Goalkeeping. The role will be responsible for implementing and delivering the Club’s Goalkeeping strategy, to develop a GK Coaching Curriculum in line with the Club’s coaching philosophy, covering a holistic approach to athlete development, ensuring this is delivered and reinforced through effective coaching and mentoring. Specific Responsibilities:

  • To prepare all SWPL goalkeepers for all training sessions and matches.
  • To monitor and report on the performance and progress of all goalkeepers, evaluating against established and agreed goals.
  • To foster a positive environment for learning and development within the goalkeeping team.
  • Work closely with NextGen and Girls Academy Goalkeeping coaches so that the transition of players from Girls Academy to senior teams is managed effectively.
  • With the assistance of the Player Recruitment Team, identify and scout potential goalkeeping target players.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise or be assigned by the SWPL Head Coach.
  • Attend all SWPL Team and Girls Academy (where relevant) Meetings.

Minimum Qualifications: Goalkeeping Coaching Award / Disclosure Scotland PVG Certificate
Preferred Qualifications: UEFA Goalkeeping B Licence
Hours: 10hrs p/w approximately, delivering three 90 minute GK specific football training sessions per week (Monday, Wednesday 7 to 8.30pm and Friday 6.30 to 8pm) and attending SWPL 1 game days on Sunday afternoons.
Location: Training Sessions & Home Games: Ainslie Park Stadium, Edinburgh. Away games will take place at various locations across Scotland.
Reporting to: SWPL Head Coach
