Spartans FC are delighted to announce that captain Alana Marshall has signed a contract extension with the club.

The club captain has been a vital part of the set up in North Edinburgh since signing in 2012, no more so than last season. Alana made 33 appearances with the team while bravely opening up on her ongoing battle with MS. The midfielder is the club’s fifth highest record goalscorer with 46. Seven of those goals came last season, most notably her strike v Dundee United that earned Goal of the Season.

On signing her new deal, Alana said:
“I’m really thankful to be given another opportunity to play for this club. As a team, we’re really looking forward to getting started and seeing what the season has in store for us, we’ve had a good preseason so hoping to take that into start of season.”

Alana and the squad get into competitive action at Ainslie Park, kicking off the new Scottish Power SWPL at 1pm v Rangers.
