We are delighted to welcome Eilidh Davies, from Hearts Women F.C., to Ainslie Park for the forthcoming SWPL 1 season. Davies joined Hearts from Jeanfield Swifts and made her first team debut towards the end of the 2020/21 season. A central midfielder, Eilidh showed great resilience to battle back from injury towards the end of the 22/23 campaign, before joining Dundee United WFC on loan in January for the remainder of the season.
It is with a mix of gratitude and emotion that we announce the departure of two of our most loyal and influential players, Simone and Dion McMahon. After an illustrious career at Spartans, spanning over eight seasons and 281 appearances between them, Simone and Dion have decided to close a remarkable chapter in their lives.
The Spartans Football Club is thrilled to announce the extension of contracts for three of our esteemed team members – Robyn McCafferty, Mya Bates and Rebecca Foote. These extensions underscore our commitment to retaining top talent and ensuring continuity in our pursuit of success.
After 36 starts and 37 appearances last season Robyn commented on her one year extension: “Anyone that knows me knows how much this club means to me and how much I love it here so I’m absolutely delighted to be signing on for another year. I believe it’s a really exciting time to be at the club, with a great group of staff and players that are excited to get back out on the pitch!”
The Spartans Football Club are thrilled to secure the signature of SWNT U17’s Goal Keeper Emma Thomson for the forthcoming SWPL 1 campaign. Thomson, a prodigy of Hamilton Academical Womens Football Club youth setup, joins Spartans after 15 SWPL 1 appearances last season and winning SWPL Player of the Month in February 2024.
